If you fly to Prague, we highly recommend to arrive by 6 pm. Later flights might not have connection to bus or train to České Budějovice at the same day. Remember that the distance from Prague to České Budějovice is more than 150 km and the whole journey from the airport to the final destination would take around 4 hours by public transportation.

Through Prague

International airport Prague-Ruzyně is situated in the northwest part of Prague. The personal transit to bus and train terminals is provided by public bus lines and by the special bus AE (Airport Express). These buses have bus stops in front of each terminal. If you wish to take a taxi, it the price will be around 500 CZK (~ 20 EUR).

There is an Airport Expressline AE from Prague Airport (Praha, Ruzyně) to Prague Main Railway Station (Praha Hlavní Nádraží). Ticket can be purchased from the bus driver for 50 CZK (25 CZK for child 6-15 y), luggage is free of charge. It takes 35 minutes. The timetable of the AE buses can be downloaded HERE.

For the public buses, you will need a 75 minute ticket for 26 CZK (13 CZK for child 6-15y) and an extra ticket for 13 CZK for your luggage over 25 x 45 x 70 cm. Tickets are available at yellow vending machines at the bus stops in front of the terminals (you need to have coins), at the counter in the airport arrival hall, or from the bus driver for increased price of 30 CZK. You can switch between the lines and the means of transport with this ticket.

If you plan to go to the Prague Main Railway Station (Praha Hlavní Nádraží), take a bus line 119 to the terminal station Dejvická. Transfer to the underground metro line A (green), go to station Muzeum, switch to line C (red), direction Letňany, and take off at the station Hlavní Nádraží. It takes about 45 minutes.

More adventurous people could try to go by tram instead of metro. Take line 26, direction to the city centre, to the station Hlavní Nádraží. The advantage is that you can see the nice parts of the city from the window, the disadvantage might be the possible complications caused by construction of monstrous tunnel Blanka through the city at present. The whole ride from the airport should take about an hour.

To go to Na Knížecí Bus Terminal, take bus line 100 from the airport to Zličín, a terminal station of the metro line B (yellow). Take the metro to the station Anděl, get off in direction Na Knížecí. It takes about 45 minutes.
